Configure AviaConnector to work with your flight simulator
Microsoft Flight Simulator
Setup for MSFS 2020 and 2024
Automatic Detection
MSFS 2020 and 2024 work out-of-the-box! No additional configuration needed. Just start your sim and AviaConnector will connect automatically.
Start MSFS
Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator and wait for it to fully load
Open AviaConnector
Launch AviaConnector - it will detect MSFS automatically
Check Connection
Look for green "Connected" status in the top-right corner
X-Plane 11 & 12
Setup for X-Plane simulators
Plugin Required
X-Plane requires a plugin to enable data output. Follow the steps below to install it.
Download Plugin
- •Download Avionify X-Plane plugin from our website
- •Extract the ZIP file
Install Plugin
- •Navigate to X-Plane folder
- •Copy plugin to Resources/plugins/
- •Restart X-Plane
Enable Data Output
- •In X-Plane, go to Settings → Data Output
- •Enable "Send network data output"
- •Set port to 49000
Connect
- •Start AviaConnector
- •Select "X-Plane" from simulator dropdown
- •Click "Connect"
Prepar3D v4 & v5
Setup for Prepar3D simulators
SimConnect Required: P3D uses SimConnect for communication. Most P3D installations include this by default.
Install SimConnect
Usually pre-installed with P3D
Configure Firewall
Allow AviaConnector through Windows Firewall
Start P3D
Launch Prepar3D and load a flight
Connect App
Open AviaConnector and select P3D
Testing Connection
Verify everything is working correctly
Connected
Green status - Ready to track
Connecting
Yellow status - Please wait
Disconnected
Red status - Check setup
Test Checklist
- ✓Connection status shows green
- ✓Current aircraft is displayed correctly
- ✓Altitude and speed update in real-time
- ✓Position shows on the map (if available)
- ✓Start Tracking button is enabled
Configuration Complete!
Your simulator is connected and ready for flight tracking.
